ORIGINAL GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE

2 (1 lb.) cans cut green beans, drained
¾ cup milk
1 ( 10 ¾ oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 (2.8 oz.) can Durkee French Fried Onions

Combine beans, milk, soup, pepper with ½ can of Durkee French Fried Onions; pour into a 1 ½ quart casserole. Bake uncovered, in a preheated 350° oven for 30 minutes. Top with remaining French Fried Onions and bake 5 minutes. Makes 6 servings.


ITALIAN GREEN BEANS

2 (9 oz.) packages frozen Italian green beans
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon oregano, or to taste
1 lemon

Thaw green beans. In a large sauté pan, heat oil; add garlic and beans. Sprinkle with oregano and heat until warm, stirring to coat beans with oil and oregano. Squeeze juice of lemon over the beans and heat until hot.
